Gardall In Floor Safes

Gardall Safes manufactures three in floor safes holding their commercial grade and two in floor safes holding their residential grade.  The commercial grade safes all have the same features and differ in price based upon size.  The commercial grade units have a burglary rating and a pyramid shaped body for solid anchoring in the floor.  The only one other manufacturer that I noted uses the shape of the safe to anchoring it into the floor.  Gardall offers Group II UL Listed dial and electronic locks.  Prices range from just north of $450.00 for the residential grade safes, to just a little bit more the $1200.00 for the largest commercial version as offered on the Gardall Website, however Amazon's pricing is much better .  All doors have a coil spring assist for easy opening and to prevent injury from accidental slamming of the safe door.  Independent re-locking device and hard plate enhance security against break in.

I wish to show case the Gardall G3600 In Floor Safe as my favorite choice.  It offers 3686 cubic inches of Storage Space and features:

Standard Features:

  • Group II U.L. listed combination or electronic push-button locks.
  • Hard plate between the lock and dial ring.
  • Full length locking bar hinge side of door.
  • Independent relocking device to deter forced entry.
  • Door frame is reinforced on bolt side.
  • Coil spring assist on all doors for ease of opening and closing.
  • Dust cover included.

Commercial Features:

  • “B” rate burglary construction.
  • 5 active ¾” bolts.

Hayman Safes offers the “FS” series of rustproof in ground safes.  A long time known issue with floor safes is over time ground water can attack a safe causing moisture build up, leakage, and in some case below ground rusting of the safe.  These issues can cause damage to safe contents, safe locking systems and shorten the overall life of the safe.  The Hayman “FS” series safes address this issue by creating the safe body out of a patented "Poly" safe using molded polyethylene creating a rustproof and leak proof coating.  Optional ½” or 1” door equipped with a drill resistant hard plate and mechanical relocker provides excellent burglary protection.  The doors are Spring assisted for easy operation and prevent accidental injury from a slamming safe door.

The featured product from Hayman Safes is the FS4000B Polyethylene Floor Safe

AMSEC – Short for American Security offers selection of in floor safes in the “Brute” series.  Since these safes are designed to be installed into a concrete slab, they offer excellent protection against fire.   They feature a ¾” steel removable and interchangeable door.  This is important especially in the long run so that you can get your safe serviced by just bring the door to the lock smith, and if necessary just replace the door and not the safe.   Dial and Electronic lock options are available.  All the “Brute” series safes offer higher end Burglary Protection ratings.

AMSEC  also offers the “Star Round” series of safes.  Smaller in storage space when compared to the “Brute” series, but still offers great protection against fire and Burglary.  The 1-3/4”lift out door features 3 hardened Steel locking bolts each with their own positive relocking bolt.  Since this safe was designed for use in a retail setting, the floor cover has a water resistant O-Ring that also prevents door noise when stepped on.  Larger models offer a “Safe” within a “Safe” feature by way of a separate locking compartment allowing limited access to the lower part of the safe.

AMSEC's Super Brute, the B5800 is a very impressive product.

Product Features:

STANDARD FEATURES:

  • Black textured body and door.
  • Large brass plated dial and black matte finish dial ring with matching handle.
  • End user can get combination changes by just bringing the door to a locksmith.

  • One piece heavy duty dead bar behind hinge prevents removal of door even if hinges are removed during a forced entry attempt.
  • Door is designed to fit full body size, which greatly reduces any possible pry points.
  • Doors are interchangeable within product group.
